Welcome to Cascade NAHRO, the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials' chapter in the State of Oregon and Southwest Washington.
Cascade's mission is to be the leading housing and community development advocate for the provision of adequate and affordable housing and strong, viable communities for all Americans- particularly those with low and moderate-incomes, and to enhance the professional development and effectiveness of NAHRO's members in Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Congratulations PNRC-NAHRO 2008 Scholarship Award Winners!
Five PNRC-NAHRO scholarships were awarded on April 28 in Spokane. Three of the winners and one runner up were represented by housing authorities in Cascade Chapter! Scholarships were awarded to:
Anna Ropalo, Clackamas Co. HA - $10,000 Epstein
Ryan Chau, Washington Co. Dept. of Housing Services - $4,000 Challenge
Behzad Fathi Asli Saysan, King Co. HA - $2,000 Community College
Ilene Thompson, Idaho Housing & Finance Assn - $4,000 Challenge
Tonya Rodriquez Torres, Lane Co. HA - $4,000 Continuing Ed
$250 consolation awards were presented to Chandra Dee Minick, Idaho Housing & Finance Assn; Estrella Salas, Snohomish Co. HA; and Tyler Brawand, Vancouver HA. Local scholarship candidates who made it to the regional level of competition also received supplemental scholarship awards from Cascade Chapter ranging from $300 to $500 each. Anna Ropalo, $10,000 Epstein Scholarship winner who emigrated to North America from Russia with her family, noted in her application essay: “I will be exposed to a world my parents never had the chance to know. I will be able to prove to myself that it is possible to break out of the mold society has placed you in and take the world by storm. My wish is to make a difference, even a small but significant one. This is why I wish to pursue a college education."
